Good morning, everyone. The Ira Era has had a somewhat inauspicious beginning. After sounding pragmatic on my program and privately to others, and having separated himself from the well-known clan that has always seemed far out of the mainstream, that Dennis Myers piece has made Speaker-Designate-but-not-yet-Speaker Ira Hansen into a national laughingstock. And he’ll probably survive, which could only happen in Nevada (or maybe Mississippi) and in that caucus, where one wag texted me about his...
TONIGHT'S RALSTON REPORTS: Reaction to POTUS speech
DAYS UNTIL THE GREATEST LEGISLATIVE SESSION EVER BEGINS: 74
DAYS UNTIL THE 2016 election: 719
Good morning, everyone. You can’t get a much better guest at your re-election kickoff than President Obama. Harry Reid is a lucky guy as he declares his intention to seek a sixth term Friday at Del Sol High School, reaching out to Hispanics, whom he hopes can help save him. Again. It was nice of the president to come, too.

TONIGHT'S RALSTON REPORTS: POTUS to visit on immigration reform
DAYS UNTIL THE GREATEST LEGISLATIVE SESSION EVER BEGINS: 75
DAYS UNTIL THE 2016 election: 720
Good morning, everyone. First, let me apologize for the last three days of tardy Morning Flash delivery. I know it has ruined yourmornings, made you seem somehow empty. Sen. Dean Heller: For not too many people noticing that he ran...

UPDATED, 7 AM, 11/24/14: A rare glimpse into who lawmakers, at least this one, think are potential donors -- you know the same people who then lobby them. Below this piece I have posted the donor list Michele Fiore sent to all her members to call for money to retire their debts.

This weekend, before Ira Hansen announced his abdication, Speaker-in-Hoping Michele Fiore sent a long email to her caucus colleagues, announcing a tour of Switch and NPRI's Geoff Lawrence as the staff person for...
