Two new political action committees filed last week are designed to boost the chances of Larry Burns in the sheriff's race and to assist the gay marriage movement:
Badges for Burns would be a willing receptacle for police unions hoping to boost the ex-captain's campaign. Police Protective Association chief Chris Collins confirmed that the three cop unions are hoping to fund an independent expenditure campaign to help their man. (UPDATE: Collins said this is not the PAC they will use if they do...
“I’m not the one with the checkbook. The consequences of inaction have been conveyed.” – Robert Uithoven, Sue Lowden’s campaign manager, 4/30/10
Almost exactly four years ago, Sue Lowden’s U.S. Senate campaign was struggling for money.
She was still well ahead of her primary opponents, Sharron Angle and Danny Tarkanian, in her own polling. But she was getting pounded on the "Chickens for Checkups" issue by Patriot Majority, a front group for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Lieutenant governor hopeful Sue Lowden has filed a "no activity" report with her still-unresolved U.S. Senate campaign from 2010, indicating she has not paid any of the $600,000 debt she owes.
The form, attached here, is required because her campaign committee cannot be closed until the Federal Election Commission accepts a debt settlement plan she submitted weeks ago. FOX's Sean Hannity and Planet Loon's Michele Fiore were on his show together Monday evening and let yours truly have it. Enjoy:
The state Republican Party has no money or respect, but it overflows with chutzpah.

The Inaugural Chairman's Cup Golf Tournament looks like a parody, but it's real. Why?
"THE CHAIRMAN NEEDS YOUR HELP!" Does he ever!
And how clever is this:
"President Obama has played more than 160 rounds...
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's leadership PAC gave $5,000 to lieutenant governor's hopeful Lucy Flores last month, trying to boost her chances in the race to keep Gov. Brian Sandoval from running against him in 2016.
The Searchlight Leadership Fund, which was boosted by about $50,000 from health care PACs, also gave $5,000 to Clark County Commissioner Susan Brager, who is being challenged in a Democratic primary by ex-state Sen. Mike Schneider, who is backed by labor and some progressives...
Good morning, everyone. Beyond the surreality of Harry Reid at a Review-Journal event (none of the higher-ups wore Sharron Angle t-shirts), the strangest moment came not when the Senate majority leader presented his “domestic terrorists” line. That came after RJ columnist Steve Sebelius asked if the senator’s gushing praise for Gov. Brian Sandoval was the reason the Democrats don’t have a candidate for governor.
Suddenly, a man stood up, holding up his literature and asserting he is indeed a...
