STATE OF THE RACES
This is going to be a bad election for the Democrats. The only question is how bad. They are going to lose the governor’s race and almost certainly will lose the lieutenant governor’s race and the state’s only swing congressional district. If I had to guess now, none of those races will even be close, perhaps all will be double...
The lieutenant governor’s race has been the big disappointment of the general election season.
Buoyed by the name recognition he received in his spirited primary with Sue Lowden and possessing a huge financial advantage, GOP state Sen. Mark Hutchison has run a “No Apologies” general election. Hutchison regularly says he “won’t apologize” for living the American Dream or for being supported by Gov. Brian Sandoval.
As if anyone asked him to be contrite.
He has used his money edge -- it will end...

And I'm told the one-man Democratic turnout machine will be in Southern Nevada next week to try to juice Democratic turnout that so far has been abysmal. Clinton could help all Democrats, but my guess is this is especially targted at Rep.Steven Horsford, who needs minority voters to get energized in a district once thought safe...
Republican lieutenant governor hopeful Mark Hutchison and Democratic attorney general candidate Ross Miller have double-digit leads, according to a new poll.
The survey also indicated that Treasurer Kate Marshall is ahead of state Sen. Barbara Cegavske, but many voters remain undecided. Oh, and this is exclusive: Gov. Brian Sandoval is going to win.

Sen. Dean Heller wants to be the head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, as Politico has reported.
Pro tip: Don't give potentially illegal contributions to Senate candidates if you want to be NRSC chair. And the Federal Election Commission says Heller may have done just that with a June donation to Oregon hopeful Monica Wehby.
Seems he gave Wehby a donation for the primary....after the election occurred. I'm sure it was just a clerical error, right?
