UPDATED WITH HARRY REID QUOTE:  "I've spoken to Warren Buffett, Michael Yackira and Phil Satre and it is not often I have been as enthused about a deal as I am now. I am elated. It is really good news for Nevada that Warren Buffet wants to invest $5.5 billion in our state. He told me that he loves Nevada and now has an excuse to come here more often."   Warren Buffett is coming to Nevada in a huge way. The Berkshire Hathaway boss, through his energy subsidiary (MidAmerican), is acquring the...
UPDATE III: On May 19, in a letter to the FEC, Sen. John Ensign's campaign acknowledged unreported contributions to his campaign from...his parents. Oh? Really...

Sandoval gets high marks as The Invisible Man who won the session and won’t have a serious opponent 4. Gaming speaks softly but gets big wins 5. Lots of good observations from the smartest folks in Carson City   With the state drink and state dog entombed, what’s left to do? Not much, besides determining just how many vetoes Gov. Brian Sandoval will...
The Nevada Republican Party early Saturday morning added to the chorus of dissenters to state Sen. Justin Jonss' background checks bill. This has become a partisan issue in Carson City, as it did in DC, with several groups sending out breathless alerts and posting apocalyptic messages. The state GOP arguing folks "need to ask you to take some action this weekend to honor the sacrifices our fallen service members made to defend our rights, including the right to keep and bear arms." And this:...
